Be an Expert {Grace & Truth Linkup}

I remember the time when I first found out that my husband’s love language is words of affirmation. I realized that I’d be in trouble - I knew that I didn’t naturally say words that built him up. A friend challenged me to think about who my husband is in my life, not just what he does, but who he is because of what he does. For example, he brings me coffee each morning. That makes him thoughtful. Or he washes dishes many evenings. That means he’s incredibly thoughtful. And so when I came across Starla’s post this week, it took me back to thinking about my husband’s love language, and how I can continue to improve in my ability to bless him. Starla’s post encourages us to “Be an Expert in the Good of Your Husband“.

Starla reminds us that the feelings we have for encouragement, for affirmation - well, our husbands have those same feelings. We don’t want someone who is going to nag us and speak down to or about us. Neither do our husbands. If you aren’t sure where to start in focusing on the good in your husband, Starla offers some ideas to get you going. This week, let’s work intentionally to be an expert in the many good things about our husbands.

You can find Starla on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. Thank you for this encouragement, Starla!
