To the Wife Who Wants to Stay

To the Wife Who Wants to Stay…
This was a post I didn’t intend to write, but God laid it on my heart and it was a blessing to me as I wrote it.

I try to be open here, to share my heart, to let you all know what God is doing. Well, when I first started to write, I told God I wouldn’t write about missions or marriage. After all, there were so many people much more qualified to write about both. I’m not an expert in either, and wouldn’t readers rather hear from the experts? And God did what only God does - He took the blog on an around-the-world journey, and I realized I was supposed to be more open in sharing the gospel because I had no way of knowing who would be reading. Then some tough things happened in my marriage and I realized that God was leading me to posts from other married people who professed mess, mistake and a message - that God can make all things beautiful.

I am counting on that fact - in my marriage, in my friendships, as a parent, even in my writing. That’s why I took a stand - for redemption. To step out in faith and trust God that if He was calling me to stay, that He would redeem the mess I found myself in.

Friends, if we dare to trust God, to really take Him at His word, we will be so blessed to see what He does.

This is the post I wasn’t going to write, in the topic of marriage that I was never going to write about - because I believe my God can redeem.

To the Wife Who Wants to Stay -

I’ve been that wife. When all came crashing down, I promised myself that I would not make any swift decisions, but that I would seek God’s voice above my own heart. I didn’t realize the arena I was about to enter. You see, the world said, “Go, you can leave.” But I was the wife who wanted to stay.

I don’t know your situation and I don’t know your support system, but if you’re trying to do something that goes against the norm, I can bet that there aren’t too many lining up to understand or encourage you. So I wanted to write to you, to the wife who wants to stay.
