“Brave. It’s a word that makes women everywhere sparkly and giddy because it’s something that we all wish for. It’s like something that’s so far out of reach for us. It nudges at something deep within, because if we’re brave, it means that we’ve achieved and conquered, right?”
Oh, how I long to be brave - to be able to stand up to every attack and opposition that comes my way, fearless and confident.
Yet, what actually happens is that when I’m feeling under attack, I take my usual seat on the end of the sofa. I pull my feet up under me and wrap myself tight with a favorite blanket. Not what I usually imagine when I picture bravery.
I’ve had the pleasure of reading several of Shannon’s posts this week, not even intentionally. One showed up here at the linkup, another somewhere in my Facebook news feed. Her posts have really been a blessing to me this week.
So - what is the one thing that can make you brave?
What if I told you that the image of me sitting on the sofa, wrapped in the blanket, was a pretty accurate description of bravery?
I know, it doesn’t seem possible, does it?
But curled up on the couch, feeling safe and warm, is right where I need to be for the one thing that can make me brave.
I encourage you to head to Shannon’s post and read it for some extreme encouragement. For some true bravery.
While you’re there, poke around her site a bit - there are some beautiful posts from a woman seeking to honor God and her family. Thank you, Shannon, for sharing this post with us at Grace & Truth!
