Repurposing Life {Grace & Truth}

“It’s amazing how you can get so far from where you had planned,
and yet find it was exactly where you needed to be.”

This quote drew me in to Christi’s post this week, and she explains why it will attract you as well. As I read through her words - falling apart, repurposing, falling right into place, old made new - I was eager to keep reading. I knew where my mind wanted the post to go, yet her beautiful descriptions, her story illustrations, all made the final point that much more sweet.

Life is one big repurposing act. You’ve had that experience, I’m sure…you’ve somehow landed where you didn’t ever intend to be. In that moment you’re faced with the choice to accept the rubble, the mess you’re in, as ugly and filthy, or determine to take that mess and work it into something beautiful that honors the memory of the mess, but shows just what can be done with a little work.

And, ultimately, isn’t that what Jesus does with our lives?

I found a quote on Pinterest this week that I’ve shared around a bit. The words are simple:

“My life is a story about who God is
and what He does in a human heart.”

God does the ultimate repurposing. He takes our mess - our filth, our ugly messes that we’re so good at creating - and He takes them (as soon as we’re willing to hand them over…) and He begins a work in our lives that takes that ugly mess and turns it into a true masterpiece!

    What a sweet surprise to wake up to the pingback notice and come over here to find you talking about me behind my back!

    I love that you shared this forward, not because it’s mine :) … but because I don’t know anyone past their 30’s who hasn’t come face to face with this reality. We aren’t in control. But we can trust the one who is.

    Love, love your quote. I’m going to have to send that one on down the road as well.

    I am in love with the Grace & Truth community. What you ladies have built over here is different from most everything else I’ve seen around the web. I could tell that from the moment I first started linking up with you. There’s something special about the group of hostesses and the sweet spirits they attract.

    Love you all. Thanks again for counting my words worthy of speaking about!
