This is great, because often the reasons people give for leaving a troubled marriage are all about feelings and convenience. Thanks for turning hearts toward truth as a foundation for solid relationships.

That’s really true - the lack of feelings, the lack of convenience are among the top reasons I hear as well. It’s frustrating because God created us for more than just feelings and convenience and we know that our heart can be deceitful. Thank you, Michele!

The power of God’s Word is something far too often used as a last resort for some, but oh the beauty it will bring to your heart and marriage if we will just let it!! Thank you Beth for providing scripture to Stand On for all marriages no matter what season we are in.

So true - and somehow we have to get out of the mentality of having prayer or study of God’s Word as a last resort. But, yes, what beauty it brings to our lives and marriages! Thank you!

  7. Shelly you are so right… you hit the nail on its head. Too often we use the word of God has a last resort. I am not sure why…but it happens. But judt a quick reminder. In Proverbs 3:5 and 6. The word of God says, in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path, and lean not unto thine own understanding. That indicates that our own understanding can put us in trouble. So it is best to seek God first, wait on His response, and then we move when He says move… be bless!

This is so true, Millie - our own understanding is not a full understanding. God is not bound by our understanding though, thankfully! Great reminder from you and Shelley to approach the Lord in prayer, not as a last resort. Thank you!

What a tremendous list of scriptures Beth. I am partial to Jeremiah 29:11. I was a verse my mother quoted to me when I laid flat on my back in the hospital. It has stayed with me ever sense. God continues to prove Himself faithful in every situation. I trust His plan over my circumstances. Thank you for sharing. I know many will be blessed with these truths from God’s word. 11. J Michael says:

From a guy’s perspective, this is an awesome post. He says that His word will not return void. Pray these scriptures to Him, for what we sow, we reap.

My wife left me 104 days ago. She filed for divorce a few weeks ago. I have asked, and even begged her to take divorce off the table, and she refuses. Since the moment she left, divorce has been the only option she considered. Despite my attempts to let her know that what she is doing isn’t biblical (as there is no adultery), she refuses to change.

Yes, I’ve made mistakes. I’ve admitted them, and am getting help with them. We haven’t actually had a face to face conversation about it, as she only wants to text. When we have been around each other a few times, her actions, don’t match her words. This is such a strange situation, that not even our pastor, or the other pastor that I’ve talked to, understand it, or know how to deal with it.

All the sites I find are geared, and designed, towards women. Is there any men’s sites that offer support for this? I need help dealing, and someone to talk to.

Please be in prayer with me for the restoration of my marriage. I know it’s God’s will, and it hurts me so much that my wife refuses to accept that restoration is the right thing.

    God Bless,
    JMB
